Enguri dam in city Georgia

Enguri hydropower dam, built-in 60-70 years of XX century, represents one of the most
fascinating examples of the civil engineering achievements of the 20th century in georgia. Objects
that comprise the structure of enguri HPP cover almost one thousand square kilometers from
Jvari village to the black sea. One of the elements of the hydroelectric power station is a dam
shaped like the arch of the sky and curved in an arc. Having 271.5 meters of height it is among
the ten highest arch dams in the world.

Taking into consideration the cultural values of the site, in 2015, the Enguri Arched Dam was
granted the industrial heritage status of national value.

Since November 2021, the visitors are allowed to experience the most attractive components
of the Dam that was impossible to visit previously, for the first time in the history of Enguri HPP.

Since 2022, Enguri Dam became a member of the European Route of industrial Heritage.
